Gilbert + Burke wins 4 awards at the PKHBA Housing Design Awards Gala

Gilbert + Burke took home four major awards at the Peterborough and the Kawarthas Home Builders’ Association Housing Design Awards last Friday, March 29. We were honoured to be recognized for Best Bathroom over $30K, Best Renovation Under $200K, Ontario Wood Award – Renovations and Renovator of the Year.

PKHBA celebrates and recognizes excellent design and high-quality construction in the new home and renovation arena. Every year, the Housing Design Awards honour the creative and dedicated work of PKHBA members in a fair and just manner.

President and CEO of Gilbert + Burke, Randy Burke, is proud to be a part of a program that supports and recognizes excellence in the custom home building and renovating industry. The PKHBA Housing Design Awards bring recognition and reinforcement to home designers and builders all over Peterborough and the Kawarthas, which is such an important aspect to advancing build methods and technologies in the field.

By winning across four categories — Renovator of the Year, Best Bathroom over $30K, Best Renovation Under $200K, Ontario Wood Award – Renovations and Renovator of the Year — Gilbert + Burke is recognized as an industry leader and innovator in homebuilding and renovating.

The Ontario Wood Award specifically points to our dedication to sustainable and eco-friendly design and build techniques. This award promotes the commitment to local economic development through sustainable building practices and is based on the highest value of local wood in the build. This is expressed as a percentage of total wood content available.

All builders who submitted projects were required to join the Ontario Wood program as a green-building effort. To be recognized with this award shows our commitment to environmentally friendly building practices, which is one of our greatest values as an organization.
