Who is Gilbert + Burke?
At Gilbert + Burke, we take our commitment to quality
home design and construction to new heights.
Founded in the year 2000, Gilbert + Burke is constantly growing and adapting to the industry to ensure quality execution of unmatched designs.
In 2015, Gilbert + Burke acquired one of the biggest names in upscale cottage country design: Evergreen Homes and preeminent Muskokan designer Peter Groza. This exclusive partnership comes after many years of respect for Peter’s accomplishments, and a reciprocated appreciation for the methodologies and goals of our company: a vision for environmentally-conscious, well crafted custom home design and builds with a premium on client communication.
With over 20 years in the industry, and led by award-winning project manager and now President, Brian Gilbert, Gilbert + Burke promises a seamless process enabling you to make space for your dreams.
With in-house design capability, we will plan your dream space – be it a new home or a remodel on your existing property. Once all the pre-construction decisions are made, our skilled production crews work to bring your concepts to life. During the entire process our goals are to build trust, communicate well, and deliver quality.

Peter Groza
Peter Groza brings over thirty years of experience designing and building homes to Gilbert + Burke.
However, it is Peter’s unique understanding of the environment, natural materials and modern architecture that has elevated his career as a highly sought-after upscale designer in the Muskoka region.
Peter truly has an expansive world view; born in Hungary, he escaped the Hungarian Revolution and moved to the remote Australian Outback town of Cooma, in New South Wales. From a very young age, Peter has felt connected to the outdoors. He has since spent his career designing spaces that are conscious of their natural surroundings, just as he is.
Working within the Muskokan terrain has fine-tuned his ability and desire to find the optimum positioning and elevation of dwellings that will capture—and showcase—key features of waterfront settings. Combining his experience with his understanding of nature, site development, and superior materials, Peter has become known for designing homes with optimum positioning, orientation, and elevation that blend into their natural environments, and even protect it.
