The Cottagers New Build or Remodel Checklist

The Cottagers New Build or Remodel Checklist 1

Cottage owners often come to us with a decision to make about whether to hire a design-builder to create a new cottage from scratch, or to hire professionals to renovate an old cottage, making it feel new again.

It’s a significant question that must take into account many different factors, from (at times hidden to the human eye) structural damage to land/space availability. Industry professionals know how to assess “the bones” of an existing cottage, and how to come up with the right solution. And while it’s still extremely important to get a qualified and professional opinion, we want to put some power in the hands of the cottage owner.

We’ve developed a simple checklist designed to help you look for the primary elements that go into making this decision. These questions have been developed by our design-build professionals and will lead you towards an answer: should I invest in a new build or a remodeling project?
