The 5 best golf courses in Muskoka 1

When you think of Muskoka, freshwater lakes and wide wooden chairs tend to come to mind — but cottage country has so much more to offer. Muskoka is home to some of the best golf courses in Ontario, designed by world-class architects and loved by pro players. Whether you’re looking to tee off for a day or become a member, here are five of the best golf courses in the area.

1. Muskoka Bay Resort

Muskoka Bay Resort is the ultimate all-season getaway. Between scenic hiking trails, tennis courts and a luxurious spa, there’s something for everyone at this resort. Did we mention the oh-so-green golf course? The semi-private, 18-hole course is meticulously maintained and has a clifftop clubhouse. Play for a day, or join as a member.

2. Rocky Crest Golf Club

Inspired by Muskoka’s cottage lifestyle, Rocky Crest Golf Club is a haven of lush fairways surrounded by forests and wildlife. You can play a leisurely game or brush up on your skills with professional lessons. As one of ClubLink’s 50 golf courses, members at-large get access to Rocky Crest’s facilities. Non-members can still take advantage of the amenities and visit as a guest.

3. Seguin Valley

Just south of Parry Sound, Seguin Valley’s golf course stretches across nearly 400 acres of breathtaking landscape. From rich wetlands to granite cliffs, teeing off at Seguin Valley means you may cross paths with deer or wild turkeys on the course. Non-members are able to visit for a day or stay overnight in a lakeside cabin.

4. The Lake Joseph Club

The Lake Joseph Club is an intimate 18-hole championship golf course. On the edge of Lake Joseph, the facility has villas available for overnight stays, as well as a cottage-style bistro and formal restaurant. Like Rocky Crest, the club is one of ClubLink’s golf courses, so members can tee off anytime throughout the season.

5. The Rock Golf Club

Situated on Lake Rosseau in Muskoka, The Rock’s golf course was designed by champion golfer Nick Faldo. The 6649-yard course is a favourite of seasoned players as well as novice golfers looking to improve their swing. While members can take advantage of the club all season, non-members can pay for daily use. Grassy greens and blue skies make The Rock a warm weather hotspot.
