But that meant environmental preservation needed to guide our spatial planning. We took careful steps to preserve as many existing trees as possible while setting the foundation. Design + Build
Working alongside the original designer, our team translated the architectural plans into a stunning contemporary cottage. Steel reinforcements create an everlasting framework, and warm wooden elements echo the surrounding forest. Natural stone softens the cottage’s modern lines and blends it into the wooded environment. Expansive glass windows frame stunning lake views and fill the interior with natural light. We considered every detail during the design-build phase to bring modern elegance to Lake Muskoka’s rugged beauty.
Interior Design
The interior design features an open-concept layout with a crisp modern aesthetic. Rich wooden accents, floors, and ceilings connect living spaces to the outdoors. Dark wood cabinets, a black tile backsplash, and a black marble countertop come together to create a modern kitchen. Elements like mosaic tile walls and frameless glass showers in the bathrooms bring spa-like tranquillity. Neutral colours set against dark backgrounds accentuate key design pieces, like the striking stone fireplace. Metal fixtures punctuate the main gathering areas. Each design detail strived to blend clean lines and textural richness to create a luxurious retreat in tune with its forested setting.
