Client Vision
This family wanted to rebuild their lake house to create space for future generations while also preserving cherished memories of the past. Originally built in the 1950s, this new home design needed to be large enough to accommodate multiple families and aging parents. Their ultimate goal was to create a multi-generational home where they could celebrate family traditions and continue their legacy. Let’s uncover the key features that make this project truly exceptional.
Home Renovation Upgrades
The project required innovative solutions to overcome the challenges of the compact lot and lakeside location. The home is situated where snowmelt and rainwater naturally funnel into the lake. This area needed to remain stable and dry to prevent water damage and ensure the foundation’s longevity. To address this, we implemented a French drain system and added crawl space measures for easy maintenance. Two additional stories provided ample room for hosting family members and private quarters for aging parents. Lake-level windows offer sweeping views of the stunning landscapes of Haliburton. Each structural decision ensured this rebuilt home would stand the test of time.
Interior Design
The interior design emphasized warmth, connection, and functionality for multi-generational living. Natural wood floors were chosen for their timeless beauty and tied the spaces together. Cozy seating around a handcrafted stone fireplace encourages family bonding. The custom finishes and bespoke furnishings balance tradition with comfort. These thoughtful interior design choices aligned with the family’s vision. Overall, the rebuilt home feels timeless, welcoming, and perfectly suited for future generations.
